Critical Aspects:
- Hand-loading of the parts to be simple and mistake-proof.
- Marking of the parts to be located within a designated area with 0.5mm tolerance.
- Laser mark need to be clear and consistent to be traceable.
- Parts to be marked are vastly different in size, shape and colour.
The Design:
A fully enclosed system featuring integrated fume extraction and poka-yoke location pins to ensure precise and repeatable part positioning beneath the laser marker.
Custom fixtures with defined datum features to securely hold components in place, eliminating movement and preventing incorrect part placement.
Safety-interlocked doors preventing accidental exposure to laser radiation.
Vertical movement for accessibility loading, and height difference compensation.
Designated z-axis positions dedicated to each variant maximising cycle-time efficiency.
Colour sensors to detect sub-variants of product.
Nests with capacity to accommodate multiple select parts.
